Wall Calendar Weight Loss Tip

Updated May 1, 2023

Here’s a quick tip to help you build consistent habits for your health and weight loss goals.

Most of the time we’re thinking about our goal but forget the importance of the day-to-day habits.

Then when end up not seeing the results we expect, get frustrated and lose motivation.

Instead, this tip helps you to build the day-to-day habits you need to get to your goal.

Here’s how to stay focused and build the habit,

1.  Hang up a wall calendar. It can be any wall calendar. At the top write down the habit you want to practice.

Your January wall calendar.

2.  Each day you complete your habit put a big red X on that day.

Wall calendar of completed habits.

3.  After a few days you’ll have an X chain that grows longer every day. After a few weeks, you’ll like seeing the chain.

Your job is NOT to break the chain.

Sometimes we lack the discipline to keep up a new habit because life,

  •         We want to cook so we eat healthier but only when we have time

  •         We’d love to sleep 8 hours but we want to catch up Netflix.

  •         We plan to exercise more but those afternoon meetings always run over

So use this simple calendar method to show you how consistent you are with your habits.

And each month you can switch to a different habit or continue with the current one if you’re struggling with it.

Examples of different habits you can practice can be,

  •         track that every meal you got 1-2 servings of vegetables

  •         getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night

  •         doing 30 minutes of exercise every day

About 80% of what we do during the day is based on habits. Our behavior is just automatic.

Instead of getting frustrated with not seeing a specific result switch your focus to putting an X on the calendar and don’t break the chain!
